Some Plants Want to be Eaten.

Image
Animals run & cry when attacked by predators. But plants have adapted to appeal to animals and birds that spread their seeds. Over millions of years, these plants have developed ways to communicate with animals through fruits, new research suggests, saying something like “choose me.” With traits evolved to match each animal’s sensory capacities or physical abilities, fruits can signal dinner time, and further their plant’s survival as a species. Red berries and orange figs hang in the rain forest’s canopy. They are waiting for monkeys, apes or birds to scan the foliage, eat the ripe fruit and either spit or defecate seeds far from their sources, spreading their next generation to a new location. In the similarly mountainous rain forests of Madagascar’s Ranomafana National Park, yellow berries or fragrant, green figs await lemurs. They will search the forest all night for their feast, later scattering the seeds. Kim Valenta, an evolutionary ecologist at...

FINAL ABODE OF THE SOUL

What goal we must aspire for?    Lord Krishna suggests (Bg. 15.4)  “ Thereafter, one must seek that place from which, having gone, one never returns, and there surrender to that Supreme Personality of God from whom everything began and from whom everything has extended since time immemorial.” In the following verse Shri Krishna describes in brief about that destination. न तद्भासयते सूर्यो न शशाङ्को न पावकः । यद्गत्वा न निवर्तन्ते तद्धाम परमं मम ॥ १५ - ६॥ na tad bhasayate suryo na sasanko na pavakah yad gatva na nivartante tad dhama paramam mama Bg 15.6   —  That supreme abode of Mine is not illumined by the sun or moon, nor by fire or electricity. Those who reach it never return to this material world.   EXPLANATION Many traditions, religions or cultures from around the world talk of t...

What We Perceive May Be An Illusion

Image
Spiritual Evolution Video.  How we perceive the world is dependent on the limitations of the five senses, mind and intelligence. We are in the habit of understanding the sensual world in a certain way ever since our birth.  What we understand is only a group of signals our system is able to receive and process.   All that we perceive to be true, may be illusion. A thought provoking video.  * (Audio may be low) ______ XXX _____ Subjects Spirituality     Bhagvad Gita    Bhagwad Puran    Buddhism   Krishna   Guru First & Earliest    Influence of Culture    Knowledge     History   Past Glories     Unique India   Chanakya    Video
